Dr. Jun Woo Kim, associate professor in the School of Global Business, published “Anchored putter ban: An examination of whether anchored putting impacts career success and putting performance” in Managerial and Decision Economics on Aug 23.

The article examines the effects of anchored putting on golfers’ career success and performance when compared to standard putter usage. Hoping to offer insight into the controversial Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Tour ban on anchored putting, Dr. Kim studied PGA golfers who were ranked in the top 125 from 2009 to 2015:

The analysis revealed an anchored putter offered no unfair advantage with regard to improving players’ career success or putting performance when compared with standard putter usage by PGA golfers.”

Managerial and Decision Economics is an international journal highlighting research and progress in management economics, from economic reasoning to managerial decision-making.
