Indigenous Peoples’ Day 2021

Today, in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the Office of Campus Life is hosting a tabling event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chat. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to visit and engage in conversation and learn more about the indigenous land we occupy, the difference between cultural appropriation and appreciation, and the proper use of land acknowledgements.

This event will be followed by a news story on a task force at Arcadia that is developing a Land Acknowledgement Statement for the University. On Sept. 30, the task force hosted Adam DePaul from the Lenape Nation, who visited Dr. Katherine Moore’s Cross-Cultural Psychology class to provide an indigenous perspective on the topic.
