International MBA Student Interns for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service

Yucheng Jin, an international MBA student from Shanghai, China, is adding another item to her list of experiences in the U.S.: an internship at Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, a full-service tax preparation company in Glenside. Jin assists the company in preparing 2011 tax returns, verifying documents and helping clients receive the best possible tax refund.

Jin credits her supervisor for the continuous guidance she receives as an intern. “I received training before I started the internship, but I wasn’t familiar with all of the U.S. tax issues,” she says. “I am very appreciative of [the guidance], since it gives me confidence in my first formal experience at a U.S. company.”

The internship experience has allowed Jin to learn concepts such as tax issues, including refundable and non-refundable tax credits, and building trustworthy relationships with clients, a skill she says she’ll be pleased to bring back to China.

“Yucheng is Arcadia’s first student from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics in southern China, one of Arcadia’s first Chinese university affiliations,” says Janice Finn, Associate Dean for International Affairs. “She is an exemplary student who has set ambitious educational goals for herself and brings the global perspective into the classroom and the Arcadia community.”

Jin will complete her MBA coursework with a leadership concentration in June. She studied in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for her first international business experience and will travel to Prague, Czech Republic with her MBA cohort in April.
