The start of Kuch Center renovations as they begin to build the new outer wall.

Beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 10, the lower-level fitness center at the Kuch Center will be closed indefinitely for the next phase of construction. Then, on Friday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m., the Kuch Center and related indoor athletic facilities—pool, strength training center, upstairs fitness center, track, gym court, etc.—will close indefinitely as well. The first step in the next phase of renovations will be replacing the main floor of the lobby, with other projects to follow.

Kuch Center will operate on a modified schedule for remaining varsity athletic events and related activities. Facility access will be strictly limited to Athletics personnel, select campus personnel (public safety, facilities, etc.), and in-season student-athletes. An update will be available at the start of the new year regarding a timeline for resumption of operations, which is planned for early January.

“This facility renovation was a significant undertaking, and we’re thankful for the community’s cooperation throughout the fall semester,” said Brian Granata, executive director of Athletics.
