On Thursday, Oct. 1, The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Molly Eichel will present “Modern Families, Different Worlds” at 10:20 a.m. in the Beaver College Room in Landman Library. Eichel will speak to the First-Year Seminar Modern Families, Different Worlds, where students learn and write about real and imaginary families from television and literature while discussing how freshmen build a sense of community on campus away from their families at home. Eichel will talk about her job, television in general, and her love of the college-themed show A Different World, which ran from 1987 to 1993.

An assistant features editor and television critic for The Philadelphia Inquirer, Eichel currently writes for the online media site Backstage. She also has written for the Philadelphia Daily News and Philadelphia City Paper, and she is a television reviewer for AVclub.com.
