On WURD, Dr. McNeil and Elliot ’21 Talk about ACT 101/Gateway to Success

Dr. Angela McNeil, director of the ACT 101/Gateway to Success program, and Patience Elliot ’21 were featured as guest speakers on WURD radio talk show “The Source” about the benefits of the ACT 101/Gateway to Success program. Dr. McNeil discussed the various resources that’s provided through the program to students from low income backgrounds, such as providing support to adjust to campus life, mentorship and networking, and assistance with studying abroad.

Elliot spoke about how the program assisted her through the First-Year Study Abroad Experience (FYSAE) program. On the radio show, Elliot recounted how Dr. McNeil helped her find an Afro-Caribbean community while studying London, which eased her transition to living abroad.
