Michelle Reale, associate professor of Landman Library, published her tenth book of poetry, Season of Subtraction, with Bodighera Press.

“In Season of Subtraction, Michelle Reale entangles you in the language of ache and need, and the search for a lost relative who becomes a found love,” wrote reviewer Kailey Tedesco. “You will gather so many pieces in this beautiful collection, and you will exit it feeling whole, knowing what was once lost is now home.”

Reale’s other publications range from topics such as African refugees in Sicily, life experiences of Italian-Americans, and the role of librarians in higher education. She most recently published her fifth academic monograph, Inquiry and Research: A Relational Approach in the Classroom, with the American Library Association in January. Reale has taught courses on contemporary literary theory, as well as annual Preview courses on immigration and cultural dynamics in Sicily.
