Social Justice Week 2018 Explores Environmental Issues

The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice, in collaboration with the Criminal Justice and Sociology societies, hosts Social Justice Week, March 26-29. This year’s theme, “Going Green: Exploring Environmental Issues,” focuses on connections between environment and society, such as environmental racism, green criminology, and benefits of the craft beer industry.

Highlights of Social Justice Week 2018 include keynote speaker Dr. Travis Milburn, assistant professor of Sociology and Political Science at Tennessee Technological University, presenting on environmental crimes, and a panel of local brewers discussing the benevolence of breweries from social and environmental perspectives.
