As one of the founding members of Tenderheart Collective, an online poetry house led entirely by BIPOC womxn poets, Arcadia University History major Emily Wingfield ‘22 hopes to uplift the voices of BIPOC poets, women, and gender non-conforming individuals. 
 
The six founding members, all of whom are young BIPOC womxn, are located across the U.S, from Los Angeles to Charleston, South Carolina. 
 
“We plan to use our platform to share a variety of content ranging from original poems from our members and book/author recommendations to featured poems from other poets and community members. In the future, we will most likely grow our page and collective further, producing more new, innovative content,” said Wingfield.
 
Tenderheart Collective is a place for poets and writers to connect with other writers, form meaningful relationships, and evolve as artists alongside one another. Although there are only six official members of the collective, they created a Discord server that is open to anyone interested in joining their community.
 
“We cannot wait to get started with this collective and start producing content,” said Wingfield. “We believe that platforms like ours that highlight BIPOC artists, specifically BIPOC womxn artists, are crucial within the world of arts and entertainment. Too often are our voices and the voices of other artists like us silenced or ignored. We believe in taking a stand against this and highlighting the talent and meaningful stories that we and those like us can bring to the table.”
