Dr. Megan C. Wright, assistant professor of biology, was elected Secretary for the Philadelphia Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience. Additionally, Wright co-authored three studies for prestigious medical journals within the past year.

The Journal of Neuroscience published both “Novel roles for osteopontin and clusterin in peripheral motor and sensory axon regeneration” and “Over expression of the astrocyte glutamate transporter GLT1 exacerbates phrenic motor neuron degeneration, diaphragm compromise, and forelimb motor dysfunction following cervical contusion spinal cord injury,” the latter of which was co-written by Arcadia graduate Jessica Parker ’12.

“Functional and morphological assessment of diaphragm innervation by phrenic motor neuron,” published in the Journal of Visual Experiments, included contributions from biology major Melanie Martin ’15.
