Boris ’18 Assists Community Defenders in Capital Habeas Unit

Collin Boris ’18, a Business Administration major with a Marketing concentration and Pre-Law minor in the School of Global Business, landed an internship at the Federal Community Defenders Office in Philadelphia. Since connecting with the Capital Habeas Unit, Boris has completed research, prepared data for court proceedings, and assisted the unit in defending clients convicted of capital offenses.

For Boris, the experience has impacted his view of law in the community and his passion for the “innocent until proven guilty” principle. After witnessing the need for motivated community defenders, he hopes to attend law school at the University of Pennsylvania and work as a defense attorney in Philadelphia.

At Arcadia, Boris is a member of the Honors Program, Dean’s Student Advisory Council, Arcadia Ambassadors, and International Peer Associates League. Additionally, he has served as an Orientation Leader, Honors Mentor, peer mentor for First-Year Seminars, coordinator of the Celebrating Cultures event, and member of Student Government and Honors Council.
